Posting to nominal payments from Google/ Amazon?

How do I post to nominal payments received from Google and Amazon affiliates?

Didn't find your answer?

I am a new UK based youtube content creator. I'm beginning to get payments from youtube/ google and also Amazon through their affiliate programs from the sales generated through my youtube channel. I have to account for them correctly, especially as I expect them to grow over time. Can anyone advise me how do I post to nominal the payments coming from google Ireland and also Amazon Luxemburg UK? I am a bit confused as they pay directly to my account and I don't raise invoices (It's not required of me) and they are in Ireland and Luxemburg, both outside the scope of VAT.

How it works is that they calculate the payments on a monthly basis based on the number of views and ads viewed (google/ youtube) and the percentage of sales generated through affiliate links (Amazon). Affiliate fees earned (anywhere from 2 to 4%) from amazon account for sales in their amazon USA, UK and Germany store mostly. Both of them calculate the amount at the end of the month and they send that amount to my bank account. I don't raise an invoice, I don't calculate anything, I don't really do anything, it's all done for me in that regard. How do people account for these payments when it comes to book-keeping?

If ever “you need an accountant” was an appropriate answer, it’s now.

+ another 1.

Not just for what you see as a bookkeeping query.
