Posting to the GL after submitting a EYU on Xero

Didn't find your answer?

It is my first time submitting a EYU and after finding out that the total figures for benefits were payrolled incorrectly, I have sent the correct figures via EYU to HMRC.  Xero does not automatically post the changes to the GL, instead, they ask you to do this manually via a journal. I have not done this previously and not sure where to begin.

I know that the journal has to take into account the Benefits account, but not sure how to move forward.

Any help would be appreciated.

Journal entries are best left to accountants to deal with.

Actually John 'Anonymous' is a regular contributor so he or she probably is an accountant!

But if he or she was an accountant, he or she would not need to ask about journal entries.

Hi John

The problem is not creating a journal. I know very well how to create a journal. I am just being extra careful as it is my first time creating a journal in terms of changes to an EYU. I thought it better to get some tips from fellow accountants and people with more experience. I can only learn and push forward if I ask questions. Thank you for your guidance.

So if you know how to create the journal entry to deal with the transaction you have to account for, what is your question?
