Dear all,
We are looking updating our computer software requirements.
If I say that at present, we are using a mixture of VT accounts and Taxcalc, and are prosposing to go to:-
Either BTC Accounting Software
or Digita
or Absolute Software
So that we have an independent viewpoint, are there any current users of the above systems that could give us a good steer/independent advice as to which one is the preferred route to take, and what pitfalls to avoid. We are not considering this prior to the 31st January 2019 deadline but any sensible advice would be gratefully rceived.
The CRM is particulary relevant as is the methods of accounts production and tax returns which are core to our business.
Thankyou for your time on this matter.
Kind regards,
Stephen R Bullard

I have used all of them in the past, and also used TaxCalc for a while. Absolute is fine for one off returns but I would not use it across a practice as it is too much of a form filler. BTC and Digita were both fine in their day and both had good support, but really they are both a bit long in the tooth and I think they will soon be left behind as the new breed of better value cloud software takes over. Of the two I preferred BTC and it had better support, but I personally would not choose to use either of them now as it would seem like a step backwards.
We had to abandon Digita this year as accounts production never got to grips with FRS102 / FRS105 and was painful to use.
Moved back to Iris. Expensive but excellent.
