Used Zoho for MTD Vat return submission in March without any issue. I'm now trying to submit June but getting a "We're unable to connect with HMRC. Please contact [email protected]" message. Zoho recommended reauthorising Zoho software for MTD submission which I did but without success. Phoned HMRC MTD Vat Online service but they decided to terminate the call before I could speak to a human. My Govt Gateway accoount has message saying "we temporarily cannot display your Vat return details here" but I cannot find anything online about Vat service issues.

I'm getting that too.
It was for a client I was filing for the first time so I thought I had done something wrong ... thank you for putting my mind at rest.
Having problems with Quickbooks Desktop. First it doesn't recognise VAT numbers then when it does it files but says there was a problem and to file again, this repeats. When you check the return is shown as filed but for nil. Waiting to see what appears on ASA. But there now seems to be a problem there too.
Brave New World...
Having a similar problem in Xero. VAT return portal of Xero states: -
"Needs Attention
Unable to connect to HMRC

I seem to be getting this for all of my clients. Go go through the "grant authority" process, but that doesn't seem to change anything.
Same with Xero and VT...joyous at this time on a Friday!
Yes the HMRC website for agent services is down due to high submissions, this will affect all software submissions too. Glad that they are pushing for more MTD!
HMRC Seem to have lost all my agent authorisations for vat filing !
Just imagine, a nice quiet Friday afternoon . . .. just a few vat returns to file and a few quarterly tax updates to file that you've just managed to complete in the nick of time and then ......
The problem with MTD and all forms of computerisation is so much time and stress is spent on getting the software to work.
I believe there has been some a problem with HMRC this afternoon.
Our team have had problems with Xero and QuickBooks, for about an hour but is up and running again.
HMRC love taking the Pee
Shut down VAT on the last working day for june submissions
