Problems emaliing payslips from Moneysoft

Is it just me?

Is anyone else having problems emailing payslips to staff from Moneysoft software?

Have sent payslips to client staff for several months now with no problem, other than one or two which might go to spam boxes But this month no-one received their payslip and the director, whose email is set up in settings in the "sent from" box, got 101 emails in her junk box instead.

Last week, with a different client, it wouldn't even email the P30 to the client, even though it's done that perfectly fine every other month for ever.

Any one else having similar problems?

This question has been asked a number of times over the years if you search emailing payslips Payroll Manager it will bring up a number of threads were people have suggested different solutions. I lost the ability to email payslips about 12 months ago and although I tried the various fixes it has never worked for me since.

Thank you I will look back.

However, this seems to be a new problem as they emailed out to staff OK last month & previous months and it's just this month something seems different and, without having changed anything my end, it isn't working, so I didn't know if it was an isolated problem or more wide spread.

Me too. I downloaded them as pdfs and atached them to emails. It wasn't great but I was finishing after the end of the 2020/21 season so I wasn't prepared to put a lot of effort into finding a solution.

You will need to check your email settings..we had a similar problem a little while ago, and our IT support told us that the email settings had changed on update

If this doesn't help, why not ask Moneysoft for further information. Whilst they don't seem to have "bedside manners" (my personal opinion) it is an exceptional product.

Since settings in Moneysoft can be changed far more easily, I'd go there first. Try using no Authentication and port (143?) for non-secure transmission - that often works to a fashion. At least this way you find out if it is Moneysoft or worse, your email provider side of things. If it sends ok then, don't leave it insecure, you'll need to do what follows.

Some email service providers need to have settings for sending securely on their platform tweaked. They may even need to authenticate use by third-party 'apps'. Messy to get to the bottom of this but if you're determined to send from Moneysoft...go for it. It only took us 12 months to find whatever it needed switching (and although notes were made, they have now disappeared so don't ask me!).

Third issue can be your email provider changing the smtp server without you noticing. Obtain the current settings from their platform (cPanel or similar).

If you don't manage your own hosting or email packages, you will need to talk to your IT provider to get any details.
