Problems with Sage 50 Payroll v21(2015) pension module

Problems with Sage 50 Payroll v21(2015) pension...

Didn't find your answer?

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the new version of Sage 50 Payroll released on 14 November 2014?

I am finding the program is very slow when changing screens.  Such as coming out of enter payments and going into employee records.

Strangely if you disconnect the PC from a network or even just the wifi is working on a standalone laptop the problem goes away.  This is no good as an internet connection is needed to send submissions.

Sage say must be my network.  Still have v20 running on same network with no problems.

Further information:  The problem appears to relate to the fact that as part of our licence we have the pension module feature.  If I register the program with a licence without the pension module, the software runs fine.

Sorry to hear of your situation

The big problem is there aren't yet enough other users of the pension module that will have the difficulties you are having to force Sage to do anything more than tell you categorically it can't possibly be anything to do with them.

What a wonderful caring supplier they are.

Struggling
I only updated after all November payrolls run, attempted to run pensions module today for a company, took 15 minutes to eventually return blank screen in the pensions module. I waited a further 10 minutes and the module still did not populate with employees. I will contact support Monday but wondered if anyone else has this problem and do I just need to wait longer?

SAME PROBLEM !!

Yes we have exactly the same problem. Even using the local data if the PC is just connected to the network the software runs very, very slow. Sage help is no help they are blaming our IT, which is not the case. The problem is with the software App source code.

Sage 50 payroll

Yes we too are having problems with the recent Sage payroll update and I would recommend that users do not update until Sage have published a fix.

We currently operate our payroll on a network with over 200 client companies. It can take up to 20 minutes to load a company's data and then operating is horrendously slow. The fix of moving all the data to a stand-alone PC will only help you run the payroll quicker provided you disconnect from the Internet which is totally useless as you can't then make BACS and RTI submissions.

I hope that HMRC monitor this site and are made aware of the issues Sage users are currently having. Will Sage pay the penalties!!

Pensions Module

We are experiencing a similar problem in that we have updated but now can't access to send the pension correspondence.  We can still run the pension assessment but just can't send correspondence.  Sage are claiming it is a windows update issue but our IT have confirmed that all updates have been applied to our server.  We've tried an uninstall and re-install but the problem is still there.  Anyone else had this issue?

Pensions Module

I'm having the same problem with send pension correspondence and Sage have said it's a windows update issue to me too. Our IT department have checked everything but I still have the same problem. I'm going to call them again to get it sorted out.

Pensions module
What operating system are you on? Your server needs to be able to support .Net version 4 or above to solve the problem. After 2weeks of phone calls and many headaches we discovered today that that was the problem and when we transferred the payroll to a more up to date windows server, this has overcome the problem. It is worth checking with your IT department.

Pensions Module

Hi JoP18, thanks for your help! I showed our IT department your post and they installed .Net version 4. This wasn't included in windows updates. I can now access "Send pension correspondence" in Sage 50 payroll. Thanks.

Sage payroll v 21 slow and kicks one out

Upgraded in December and bugs galore. Redid update today from fresh disks and bad.

Slow

Cannot update employees as it kicks me out of the program

Will not accept reminders done

Frequently says program not responding then when moving the the sage screen find an underlying pop up box where data was to be enetred but that also at times kicks me out.

Using windows 7 pro and its up to date

Saw no solutions on Sage websites

Anyone else has similar or has found a fix?

Many thanks in advance

Hi all, reading the comments here, it seems that the problems we are experiencing in 2016 is still as current as it was in 2014...Every new windows on sage 50 payroll takes about 30 sec to 1 minutes to open. I am not even going to mention the pension module. Sage is again blaming IT departments, or the fact that it sits on a server (who does not operate anything without a server nowadays!) so what is the real problem here because this is very frustrating and what are the solutions...
