Process to remove the PL submitted to Companies

Process to remove the accounts from Companies House

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

Could you please guide whether the accounts which are submitted to companies house with detailed PL can be removed that part from as it is wrongly submitted instead of only submitting the balance sheet.

Many Thanks

You can refile the correct one, but I doubt Companies House will remove it. Id talk to them just incase.

Officially, you need a court order to have the original accounts removed.
Unofficially (according to previous posts on here) if you get through to the right person on the phone, flirt outrageously and say pretty please, apparently they might just do it.

I said ‘apparently’. Personally I think that there’s v little chance of it happening, but worth a go on the off-chance.

I have always treated with scepticism these stories of helpful Companies House staff making such changes. It seems to me that interfering with the records in a statutory register would not be something that would be easy to do or to get away with and would surely be treated as serious misconduct.

I suspect it's doable from their end. I've certainly seen, in our archieving system, people file item X under Company A when it should have been Company B.

I imagine such fat fingering happens even at Co House and they (or at least some of them) have an internal ability to remove filings. But obviously, it requires catching someone who has that permission setup on a good day, and willing to 'risk it'.

But the ability to remove filings is poor. About ten years ago, a client of ours was attacked by having its registered office changed (and then stock ordered to this spoof address in London). When we contacted Companies House they advised the same, "You'll need a court order sir."

We just filed a change of registered office form that day, and signed the client up to PROOF.

Yes you can - i've done it recently although i received contradictory advice from Companies House. The person on the phone was v. unhelpful and said it was not possible but after i emailed the enquiries@companieshouse email address they removed it, but it took several weeks unfortunately.
