£250 incentive

£250 incentive

Didn't find your answer?

Does anyone know when the £250 payments for on-line filing of 2005/06 P35's etc will be issued by HMRC (this is where an employer qualifies for the incentive, but has no actual PAYE/NI liability to "self-serve" (strange phrase!)?
My company received the £250 for 2004/05 last November, but I thought HMRC was going to try and do better this year.
Anybody received theirs yet?

The system works!
Hi

Finally got through to Accounts Office on Friday the 18th. Unfortunately, the names of the partners had been transposed (why do you suppose this has happened, initials are missing, titles are missing, sorry to digress) and I needed to contact the local employer's section to have this corrected. However, the extremely kind and efficient lady at the Accounts Office said that she would keep an eye out and issue the cheque when she saw the record had been amended.

The cheque arrived on Friday 25th!

So, once you eventually get through, they are really very helpful.

Has anyone had a cheque yet?
One of my clients queried over the weekend whether we should be chasing this yet. He requested his cheque from Shipley at the beginning of August. I think he's being very optimistic given that they can't even answer the phone at the moment! Anyone out there had a cheque for 2005/06 yet?

A local tax office ...
... has just advised us by telephone that the incentive payments for 2005-06 in respect of returns that had no PAYE liability are being withheld pending a decision by the treasury as regards whether they will pay them at all (for the nil return cases). This is news to me. Anyone else come across this, or is it just ill informed scare mongering by local tax office?

If this is the case it would have been nice to know prior to 06 April 2006 - there are a number of our clients who would have paid sufficient salary to generate a £250 PAYE liability, if that is what it took to qualify for the incentive.

Try phoning /faxing....
I was told to phone or fax Cumbernauld at the end of August, for paymentin September. I couldn't, however, find a fax number and have now spent a long time trying to get through on the phone. If the numbers would accept a ring-back it would make life a lot easier all round!
Anyone know of a fax number to use???

Sarah

...it can only be faster
Given the delay in dealing with the 2004/05 efiling, it surely can only be faster this time......(please Lord).

We too have (for several weeks now) been receiving notifications, but there does not seem to be any system. More importantly, they deal with 2005/06 when they haven't cleared 2004/05 for the same business.
