Apart from the usual considerations are there any factors-specific to franchises-that I should take into account when carrying out a valuation

the cynic in me would say...
Value low. My experience of franchises is that the only person who makes money is the franchisor.
Check the agreement
Franchisors ususally have re-sales covered in the agreement. There may be restrictions, or costs, involved and this can vary dependent upon whether the new purchaser continues with the franchise or goes it alone.
