Quickbooks Desktop and MoveMyBooks

Quickbooks Desktop and MoveMyBooks

Didn't find your answer?

Has anyone used MoveMyBooks to migrate from QB Desktop to QB online?

If so, would they kindly share their experience of the process please?

You don't need to use MMB for a QB desktop to QBO transition

I think this is the USA site and product which still offers the built in migration utility, that's no longer available on the UK edition - all they offer is he MMB option...

Ah, apologies! I didn't realise it had been removed (which is somewhat shortsighted). All the more reason to move to something like Xero or SBCA then if they won't even support the simplest of transitions...

as an associated issue we moved client from qbo to xero yesterday and it came up with a significant amount of errors/discrepancies - previous imports to xero have worked well (non qbo)

we are going with option to get them to look at the flagged issues - would be interested to here feedback from this that have had discrepanies flagged by movemyboks

We have used MMB many times to import to Xero. Seems to work well from Sage to Xero.

To date we have not had any experience of moving data from QBO to Xero though we try to stay well away from QBO.

Good luck

Hello,

We are in the process of dong this - I set up a test company recently to trial importing the data which seemed to work well having checked TB, customer/supplier imports etc, however I have yet to do a full check. NB It only imports 2 years historically.

They have a help line contact email which gets a response fairly quickly.

Hope this helps

Neil

Would it not be far better to start clean and in the manner you wish to go on in new system......The transition of data will always result in some level of differences and time consuming things to resolve, only find yourself in the same position as you were before the change.

I've used MMB many time to move from Qbks to Xero with no problems. I did have to use it the other week to move from QBks desktop to online and it came up with 5 accounts that had discrepancies between the desktop figure and the figure in the Online version which then needed investigating. It was mainly VAT codes and credit note allocations that caused the issues. Make sure all the VAT codes that you used in the Desktop version are set up in the online version before you move, even if they are old codes that aren't used any more.

I did but some time ago.

Worked very well and saved a lot of hassle. Was done quickly as well. 2 days if memory serves me well.

No errors but had to do some tweaking (mainly on VAT submissions - not actual entries but when submitted)
