its been moved will locate new link, in the meantime go to reports / chart of accounts top left click on all lists then classes and you can then get a P/L by individual class that you can export to excel

You've completely lost me now, QuickBooksonline is in the cloud, there are apps for Android & Apple that can be easily downloaded

it is but their budgeting feature is not very good. I want to avoid downloading to excel in order to play with the budgets.

First classes then budgeting! You should probably have stuck to the desktop version for a little longer while the online develops

We chose it as it allows them to enter invoices and follow receipts. It's pretty good and they will add CIS soon

As carnmores has suggested, you can run reports in QBO that will analyse any report by class. Just run the report you want (eg P&L) and then click Customise. You can choose to show columns by classes or filter the report so that it only shows the class(es) that you want to include and ignores the others. Once the report is run, it can be viewed on screen or exported to PDF or CSV (Excel).

If you want to use another cloud product that can interrogate QBO and extract data analysed by class, then take a look at Crunchboards. It's very easy to use and provides fantastic budgeting options which you can use to run reports in conjunction with your live QBO data.

has a missive from QB today

Budget Variance
Stay on track with this year’s budget with this tool that alerts you if you’re over or under on spend. In QuickBooks, this is customisable, allowing you to set your income and expense accounts. You can also run reports, such as proposed budget vs actual budget, and get a clear, real-time view on how your business is performing

Go to Reports>Go to report search>Budget vs. Actuals

Budget variance is only available in QuickBooks Plus.
