Hi,
We are with one of the well known software provider in the market (the biggest I think) and the prices are going up at an astronomical rate. I am fed up of with their attitude towards small practitioners like us. I am now thinking of migration to a less expensive platform, can anyone suggest me a reliable, integrated software provider for Accounts Production, Corp Tax filer, VAT file and Self Assessment filer?
Thank you so much in advance for your kind help.
Many thanks

We use btc and have been big fans over the years - very reliable and customer service is great. It may look clunky at first but the core competence is great and they charge a reasonable price. Very simple to use and remember (mostly) once you have done anything for fisrt time. They moved our client databases over foc so all the main info was prepopulated in the system
One bonus with btc is that it contains simple folder filing system so all documentation and associated excel/word docs can be saved or scanned scanned and saved within the system making it easy to find historical records and/or keep letters done easily accessible.
At present the main suite does not contain automatic links to companies house filing deadlines which is probably only the main drawback - they are doing cloud version as we speak though that i think will go live in next 6 months. They do company secretarial module which does cover the bells and whistles ref companies house.
Note ref vat we don't file using btc - you can do from excel calcs if you want but practicably speaking that side of things wont compare to vt transactions if you want bells and whistles.
10/10 from me
I am in the process of moving the vast majority of my stuff over to Nomisma.
I'm finding it a bit of a steep learning curve but looking to get everything in the cloud over this next year, including bookkeeping and payroll.
Costs are £5 per SA/CT £5 a month bookkeeping per client and £3 a month per payroll + 50p each employee over 10. (All plus VAT)
It's a bit of a steep learning curve as I'm working a totally different way to what I'm used to but the support is excellent and if you have a client base of <80. it's cheaper than Taxfiler, which is your next inexpensive alternative.
Taxfiler is good as well although you can't change headings.
Off topic, but did you get a resolution to your pre-Christmas major issue ... your agent access to self assessment and corporation tax being denied (due to both agent codes having been ceased for an unknown reason)?
If so, could you update that thread with regard to how it was resolved (and any insights into HMRC's reasoning) - it would be appreciated by others in that situation.
If it's Iris, be aware of their cancellation terms - if you didn't give notice 3 months before your renewal date then they automatically commit you for another year at least - though you'll probably need a year to migrate properly to anything else anyway.
We went from IRIS to Taxfiler, which has been great for the past few years. However, with growth and the need for a bit more flexibility and integration, we're going to TaxCalc.
TaxCalc and BTC are both excellent, and a choice between them seems to be more personal preference than anything else.
We moved from IRIS to TaxCalc 5 years ago and have never looked back, or been tempted by any other provider since.
The accounts preparation misses out on plc and consolidated accounts, but it's very solid, easier to use than IRIS and much faster.
