Reclaiming CIS payments

2018 /2019 CIS payments

Didn't find your answer?

The 2017 /2018 SA Tax Return includes an estimate for tax due 2018 / 2019. This estimate has to be paid in Jan & July 2019. Payments received to date have CIS deducted. Can these be claimed against the above estimate payments or do they have to wait for the next Tax Return 2018 / 2019?

You can reduce the 2018/2019 payments on account to what you estimate the ultimate liability is after deducting those CIS payments.

Payments on account can be reduced, you can do this on the tax return.

Is it really an estimate or your bog-standard payments on account ?

Were there no CIS deductions last year ?

If you're sure the liability is reduced, you can claim to reduce the POAs.
