Recommendation for Company Formation

Didn't find your answer?

I've been using Companes Made Simple for several years for company formation but the process is now littered with sponsored adverts and invites to 3rd party software. There are also several pre-filled sections designed to trip you up into ordering services not required. Although the actual company formation service is still very cheap, the process is now very much not simple. Can anyone recommend an alternatiove?

+1

No need to use a third party agent. Takes minutes on CH website.

I have up to the last couple used companyformations247 but you get lots of hints to upgrade for extra charges. I accepted that as part and parcel of a £20 service. I also did a couple through inform direct, where it's a tenner but you've also got the charges for each company you have on the dashboard.

Last couple I've done directly through gov.uk and only two drawbacks (for me any road) are you don't get the authentication code automatically and you have to set up a new gateway for each company you register. I can live with that though.

I long ago got fed up with the ads and addons from formation services, and have used Companies House in recent years. Not especially slick, but does the job without fuss.

We have used Inform Direct for several years.
There's no charge for the formation (and we use our Companies House account to pay the fees). It also recognises names and addresses we have used previously, saving re-typing those details and making sure they are consistent.
Inform Direct automatically creates an online company register and makes it easy to file all other CH forms, from Confirmation Statements to Allotments and Share Reorganisations.
I can download a draft for approval and generate completed board minutes and other documents such as dividend vouchers.
