Recommendation for remote desktop provider

Looking at alternatives

Didn't find your answer?

We are a Hosted Accountants customer and have been for a number of years and have thought for a while now that the service has dropped, regular issues seem to crop up which are fixed and then go wrong again a few months later or just taking an age to actually fix things.

It isn't particularly about looking to reduce costs (although in these times it wouldn't be a bad thing), just looking for less problems/hassle and more reliability.

There seem to be quite a few providers our there, are there any that anyone would recommend?

Many thanks

how many users involved here and how many programs are hosted? the free version is chrome remote desktop. non free include team viewer log me in / go to my pc. it might depend on how much printing you need to do remotely.

6 users currently, although probably rising by 1 or 2 in the next few months. Everything is ran remotely, so outlook, word, excel, Taxcalc, Payroll software etc

There are a great many providers. It can be difficult. You might also consider other aspects to such as connectivity, telephony, security and support.

You'd be welcome to look at our company. You will need more than five users to make it worth while as the scale keeps the costs down. Alongside this we are a Microsoft Silver Partner using the latest virtual desktop technology.

I've used hosted desktop uk (find at www.hduk.co.uk) for several years and they have been great. They have a lot of accountants and lawyers as customers and should be happy to give you the details of 3 accountancy firm users to discuss it with. We have 3 qualified experienced accountants as users and have been working from our homes for nearly 3 years now.

Hosted Desktop UK (https://www.hduk.co.uk) are superb! If you want an excellent hosted service, you cannot do better. I've been with them for over 5 years and have been very impressed.

The alternative is to use cloud-based solutions for all software (eg QBO/Xero and Taxfiler etc.), in which case you don't need a hosted desktop provider. Emails should be hosted in either Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace (previously called G Suite), with all files stored in SharePoint (for Microsoft 365) or Google Drive. This allows everyone to sync to a central, cloud-based repository and no need for logins to a hosted desktop.

Hi there,

I'm from HDUK (www.hduk.co.uk) and we would be happy to help. We have provided remote desktops and other cloud solutions for over 10 years and specialise in the Accounting sector - we can provide references from customers of a similar user size if you would like to speak to someone who is already using our service.

If you would like to speak to a member of our team for a chat about your business requirements, please give us a call on 01883 582038 or you can email me at [email protected] and I will arrange a call for you.

Best wishes,
