Recommendations for company secretary software

Any recommendations on company secretary software please.

Didn't find your answer?

Hi All,

We are looking for some company secretary software that can be used to create all the documents needed for the company records/limited company stautory books.

Can anyone recommend any? The company isn't very big, no employees just 3 shareholders 2 directors.

Thank you in advance

CR

When you say “create all the documents needed” what do you mean? Most documents will have been created as part of the company formation process. Most others can be completed online at Companies House. I think you’ll need to give more info in what exactly you are looking for the software to do.

More than 10 years ago I used stand alone software for maintaining registers, meetings minutes, dividend vouchers, share certificates when holdings changed etc as well as filing docs with Companies House. Then the software firm was taken over by Iris & the cost increased exponentially so I gave up on it. I am now thinking of trying Inform Direct which has a subscription service based on the number of companies you want to use it for. Filing direct with Companies House is easy & you can have proformas set up for the other docs, but I do miss having specific software when you have a company with multiple directors etc.

I act as company sec for 15 residents' management companies - it's pretty straight forward stuff. I kept all the records on Excel for a few years but it much, much easier with inform Direct. I just pay them and extra £12 (so £25 in all) for confirmation statements.

Hi, I have been using Inform Direct for six small companies. It’s great, and low cost. Mike

In our practice we used in house software for years and like others that was taken over by Iris who upped the price massively. We looked around at loads of suppliers mainly cloud based systems and it seems the majority of the offerings are the same software (Vectis) just badged with the supplier!
We actually went for Formations Direct, their offering of the Vectis software was the cheaper option for a block of 200 companies, but even with less it work well pricewise. We were already using them for company formations and identity checking so it made sense to keep with them.
The product isn't as all singing and all dancing as the Iris offering but should cope with the majority of statutory records etc.

When you say they, don't you actually mean we?

I would highly recommend First Corporate Law Services - they had the first cloud based software on the market. You pay per company not per block, support is really good and they are company law specialists so if you require any other help regarding company law there just on the end of the phone.
