I have been asked by one of my clients if it is possible for them to re-instate a worker whom they had laid off due to lack of work in the early stages of the Coronalvirus outbreak. He was laid off on 7th March, before any information was vailable about furloughing.
It appears that as he was employed on 28th February, and will be employed again after the virus is over, my understanding is, that instead of being laid off, he can be re-instated and furloughed, & will receive 80% of his pay.
The employer's elderly wife completes the payroll using HMRC PAYE tolls software and is unable to find out how she re-instates him for this to apply. He was weekly paid and was issued with his P45 - so the relevany RTI has been submitted already. They have not yet done their week 52 payroll or filed their end of year return.
We use third party software and are unfamiliar with ow this would work. It has not been possible to speak to anyone from HMRC - can anyone help, please?

Amended FPS reversing the termination. I don't have access to BPT right now, but I'm sure that's possible.
