Repayment of tax via online services account

No obvious way of entering a business (partnership) account

Didn't find your answer?

Clients who are partners in a general partnership would like to have their tax repayments paid into their business account but the online services tool only allows first name, last name. Has anyone found a way around this and successfully had funds paid into a business account?

Thanks!

The online system is clearly aimed to pay back the taxpayer only
Not agents and not businesses
Refund to businesses and agents should be on the tax return

Partnerships don't pay tax and shouldn't get repayments. Of course, once the money is in the individual partner's account, he may do with it as he wishes.

Partner's tax refunds are paid to whatever account they put on their individual SA returns. This can be a business account.

Thanks for the replies, I'm guessing that's a "no"!

I'm not so sure. An individual can have money paid into a joint account.

The downside is - what if the repayment fails ? Is it worth the hassle ?

I would've thought no.

Thanks, and I agree - not worth the hassle. The business account name contains their surname but with this new matching process we have with faster payments I am fairly confident it will go wrong. I am still chasing a subcontractor's failed repayment from April because he gave me the wrong account number.
