Repayments arising from amended SATR

Does HMRC ever get this right?

Didn't find your answer?

I have had a few of these where I have to chase and chase for the repayment. Admittedly the repayment in each case arose out of a s64 claim to set-off losses against income of an earlier year, but still it isn't so exotic that HMRC cannot manage it without a load of hand holding.

What are other member's experiences?

Same.

It's like the Government are so hard up they're desperate to cling to every penny for as long as possible.

Sad really. If it wasn't so annoying.

At least you checked. A client's account today showed £3k repayment not yet repaid from last year! It wasn't an amended return but the client will only accept a cheque and normally chases me to chase HMRC.

Not my best client though so don't feel too bad for not spotting it - he gave me his records yesterday and return submitted today.
