Same issue with one CT600 - no response.

I submitted another CT600 later this morning and got back an instant response.

It seems there were some gremlins for a short period of time.

I would imagine it is due to bulk submissions of SATRs held back until the last working day for filing.

Problems with tax returns too - I've got 3 that haven't gone through this morning so far.

I love that AccountingWEB is a far better reliable source of HMRC system issues than anywhere on HMRC's own website.

Same problem for me re RTI. Such a relief to be able to take 2 minutes out to check AccountingWeb and know it's an HMRC issue, not mine!

Another great suggestion for the site owners, add an HMRC status dashboard!

And if it always displays "down" then a bit like a broken clock it will be right some of the time ... possibly more often than the clock.

Just filed last SA and also last Partnership tax return. All stuck in the queue with a message from software that "HMRC are having connectivity issues".

I hope this gets fixed before 28th otherwise I fear some wasted hours appealing against late filing penalties!

The odd FPS is getting through with an instant response, yet others still outstanding form 10.30am. Pain if you used the RTI batch processor as waiting for response stops the next one being checked. You have to abort and then open each file. The Moneysoft pop up warning has gone also.

Comforting to know that I am not alone, relieved to know that I am in good company. No response to RTI filings submitted through Moneysoft. Dreading Making Tax Digital, I don't think that I can cope with it and HMRC systems certainly can't.

My MS batch processor got stuck, so I aborted it. One file went through, 30 didn't, but I also have 7 email acknowledgements from HMRC. Now I have no idea how it will go, still we have until midnight on Sunday

Presumably this is just "Friday volume"

We have a lot of deadlines falling today.

The rump of the SA returns for the hand sitters
Payroll for Feb
VAT for Jan (few people will want to be doing them next week with the budget)

One does wonder how they will cope with millions of quarterly filings for the self employed and landlords, most of which will be filed on or around the deadline day given the very short time intervals.

Don't forget weekly payrolls and December annual VAT returns. Oh - and February 2020 company accounts.

I'm not sure I've ever done anything early to avoid a clash with the Budget.

I've just rechecked the status of all the payrolls for which no responses were received this morning and I have now received responses for all of them together with HMRC e-mails confirming submission.

Dear Jim Harra

For every hour of HMRC down time.

Please provide one full day of extra time to file.

A month could morph into two.

Agree?

Yes it is that bad.

It's unacceptable that users are constantly checking the system.

Mainly because the fear of penalties,

Comforting clients.

Appealing penalties.

With zero prospect of recuperating time and costs.

All due to HMRC!

These Brexit style Bumps in the Road, are in fact long term portholes.

If you are unwilling to fix, please compensate by extending filing dates
Automatically.

Yours

Accountants United

Got three partners and a partnership SATR to file. Fortunately, amendments to Returns already filed, so I think they can wait until Monday.
