I have installed the Sage 200 add in for excel which give me 3 simple reports, but I was under the impression that from within excel I could run all the reports currently setup within Sage 200.
My support company are telling me this is not the case, have I been mis-informed ? or do I need to purchase something like BI to have this facility ?

I think you do need BI. But from what I have seen BI is a link in to Sage 200 and use of Power Pivot. I wouldn't like to attempt to reinvent the wheel with it though.
A client is currently looking to purchase it and BI was included within the Financials Module gratis. Have a check if you're entitled to a freeby from an update!
Sage 200 and excel
Sage 200 2011 comes with free sage BI and all the reports can be exported to excel - theres a button on the top of the page when you run them.
