Sage 200 ODBC - Pass through query

One for the techie Sage 200 users

Didn't find your answer?

I have used Sage 200 ODBC links into Excel quite happily, but I now have to branch beyond that because of the type of queries I need - which are beyond Excel.

I am using MS Access, and need to run a 'pass through' query as the tables are too complex to link into Access.

To enable the pass through query to work, I need an ODBC connect string - but I cannot quite work out what that would be.

It is something along the lines of

ODBC; DRIVER=SQLServer;SERVER=DATA\xxx Database=yyy

This is relatively new to me, and I am lost on the syntax.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great - although I accept this is a bit niche.

We do have a support contract, but I am fairly sure the providers would ideally want us to pay for this kind of thing.

Enjoy the Royal Wedding peeps,!

I have found a work around, that works for me! Purists look away now.

Create ODBC Links into Excel tables
Then create links from the Excel tables into Access.

The reason for creating a pass through query was that the data, for some reason, didn't pull through straight into Access - all the records appeared deleted in the tables.
