Hi,
I'm having issues with Sage 200 and the VAT submission tool and wondered if anyone could help? I'm having problems submitting the Jan-Mar 20 VAT return. The software logs onto HMRC but the period I need to submit for doesn't display as a choice. Yesterday, I submitted all the other later periods just fine but the Jan-Mar 20 still isn't there. I spoke to HMRC this morning to see if there was a flag their end preventing the submission and they said it shows as open and ready so the problem is with Sage 200. I wondered if anyone else has had this problem? I don't want to ring support yet.
Matt

Just on the off-chance, might it have anything to do with the VAT Portal closing for business earlier today?

It didn't work yesterday either!
Do you have the latest version of S200?
I don't, which I why I am stuck for now with bridging software.
Unsure. But as I submitted the other four quarters without a hitch then I don't think it's a software version issue.
Just had an idea. I could use one of those third party software VAT submission packages. That would ascertain whether it's a HMRC or Sage problem. I used EasyMTD ages ago but I had to buy many credits. Are there any that are PAYG?
There are quite a few MTD software suppliers that offer a free service and you can search for the free ones on HMRC's website here:

Click search now. (the green box)
Just to conclude this story. I downloaded some VAT software and the submission worked. I had our Sage support look over Sage as well and found no problems. I can only assume that the Sage 200/HMRC interface still is glitchy after all this time.
