sage 50 v25.

How do i get in sage when it the password is wrong and the answer to my security question is wrong.

Didn't find your answer?

Search AccountingWEB

I recently upgaded my sage to sage 50 version 25 (we have recently upgraded to windows 10)..It asked me to create a password and a security question which I did.  The first time I used it all was good I worked for a whole day backed it up, but when I cam back the next day there were problems.  It would not let me in (I cannot remember why) so I recreated the company and went in to restore the data.  It would not restore.  Now I cannot get in at all it says incorrect password and when I try to change the password asks you to the answer to your security question (I created this question) but it states it is wrong.  Help what do I do now.  Paniking enough about lost data but will never know as I cannot get in.  Wish I had never bothered with the password......  Thank you......

You'd really need to speak to Sage at this point.

As for not bothering with a password, since v24 was released, you no longer have a choice, the program insists on a password for the MANAGER logon.

Agree you need to contact Sage. From their guides, note re the contacts...

''If the Forgotten password options doesn't appear or you don't know the answer to your security question please call Sage Technical Support and we can decode your password during the call. There is no charge for this service, but contact should be made by the main billing contact on the account.

If the main/billing contact no longer works for the company we'll need an email or letter on company letter head to [email protected] from company email address of either owner, director or someone else we can publicly verify as working for the company confirming the main/billing contact has left and the contact name & details of the new main/billing contact.''

Hi

I use this when the password is forgotten a small fee but saves loads of time and it worked.

If you have a old back up you could reload V24 backup and use it

https://www.password-service.com/sage50-accounts-password.php

Yes it does highlight sage should be more secure.

I Sarah
Ive never used the sage service (yet!) but their website does indicate it is free, so even if you have no sage cover they should sort it.

The problem was I do have sage cover and they did not sort it. The option I mentioned was not free at the time but cheap and cheaper than wasting my time.

"Help what do I do now"??

Seriously consider " temporal termination" ?

I have had this problem a couple of times with a client. Sage told me it could be casued by having CC (c**p cleaner) installed on the computer. It was fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling sage
