Sage to Moneysoft

Where do you find the employee payroll work ID

Didn't find your answer?

New client using Sage transferring payroll over to me but unsure where the RTI payroll ID is for employees. Looking at previous threads, it mentions a 32 character ID but the client isn't sure where to find this. They have given me a 2 letter number and one number digit, is this correct. If it's not could someone who has transferred payroll over from Sage direct me on how they would find this ID.

If you do a data export from Sage (tested with Sage 50) to CSV then open the CSV file, column AC is the one you are looking for.

They sent me over a information sheet csv and the only column that related to the employee was employee work number with 2 letters and a number. I presume that's not the correct export file.

Probably not ideal, info might be on the actual payslips (ony a suggestion if struggling getting what SteLacca suggests)!

Moneysoft's Employer Details screen includes the following tick box: "For the first FPS returns report that the previous works numbers/payroll IDs are unknown".

Unfortunately this box isn't mentioned in the Help screen, but one assumes it will do what it says on the tin, and thus prevents HMRC from creating a duplicate employment record for each individual.

I should have clarified, it's the Data Export option in the Wizard menu, not one of the reports. In the window that pops up, select next and then highlight employee details before continuing.

This will produce the report I was referring to.
