Sages Cloud offering

Didn't find your answer?

I have been following a recent thread here about Sage Cloud accounting. I am also looking again at a trial having doe so last year.

Sage generally seems to get very negative feedback here on AW but my experience with using Sage accounts production in the past and now looking at Cloud Accounting has been fairly positive. For example they seem to be the only of the big players offering a correctly customised version to deal with Irish VAT accounting . Has anybody else got an opinion particularly on the Cloud Accounting package and what sort of practical transaction limits apply to it?

You need to seperate accounts production (excellent product but could do with more investment to stay competitive) and cloud accounting (inadequate products rushed to market because they were caught on the hop by Xero and QBO)

Everyone forms their own opinion. I have large practices which favour sage accounting over all other packages. Let me know if you need help setting up a trial or have any questions around the product in general.

Where to begin with the failures of Sage Accounting?

For clients with very simple book-keeping where you will need no support Sage is fine, as soon as you have to do anything slightly more complicated we ditch it for any of the others.

Also be wary of the offers they give you, we were given a 20% cashback commission, all very well until you try and get it - I am not kidding it took me over 2 years and constant phone calls and emails to the so called account manager before it was finally setup.

Support is terrible too.

You don't need to worry about getting commission anymore, Sage removed it for all new companies added from today. Possibly the best marketing I've ever seen, hit their customers with a 33% increase in cost and try to advertise it at 25% discount. Check your e-mails if you haven't seen it already

Completely agree with Johnt27.
For those that need cloud, Sage is very poor. They also offer Sage Drive, but have never had that function properly for two hours straight without crashing.
Customer support also leaves much to be desired.
And, to top it all off, there's the price tag.
For those that want desktop (I'm not sure why, though) Sage is adequate.
