SEISS - "adversely affected"

Invoices not yet paid, likely to be unpaid but not written off..yet. Is this "adversely affected"?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi all,

Client ticks all the boxes for a payment under SEISS.

However, the question of whether or not she has been "adversely affected by Coronavirus" is a difficult one to answer. She has two unpaid invoices which she doesn't know yet if they'll be unpaid, but it's likely she'll need to write them off at some point. Does this count as "adversely affected"? (If nothing else, there's been adverse cashflow). If so, and she does claim, but later the invoices are paid, presumably she'll need to repay the SEISS grant?

A further complication is that she is contracted to work 40 days per year - spread over the year as and when she likes. She doesn't know at this stage if the 40 days will be worked, or if there'll be a chance that the contract will be severed early. So, she may, or may not, ultimately be adversely affected. Will this qualify? Is the prospect of being adversely affected a qualifying factor? (I suspect not).

Thanks for any assistance and the wisdom of anyone's recent experience.
