Self - assessment

Self - assessment

Didn't find your answer?

The '15 - '16 tax year was my first as a limited company and so need to complete a self assessmment.

I applied last week of Jan to register for self assessment with HMRC and only just received a UTR (16th Feb).

Can I just go onto HMRC and complete? Or do I need somethig like TaxCalc?

Well, firstly, "you" aren't a limited company. The whole idea of forming a limited company is so that the business isn't "you" and, if it fails, "you" aren't liable for its debts.

You sound like you may be a director of a limited company. Just being a director doesn't mean that you necessarily have to submit a return.

However, glossing over that, you can register on HMRC's website and submit it using their software.

If you mean submitting the company's CTSA return, first you need the accounts. Once you have those, you can again submit them on HMRC's website - though you may find commercial software easier to use.

This is now the fifth or sixth question you have asked where you demonstrate no more knowledge than a man who has had a chat to Sly Dave down the pub and believes that the odd shape in the sealed bag is quality pork rather than the cabbage it actually is.

Stop crashing around with soap in your eyes banging into all the furniture and get some proper professonal advice before you take all the skin off your shins. You clearly have no clue.
