Self Assessment - comprmise agreement

Self Assessment - comprmise agreement

Didn't find your answer?

My client received £8,000 in a compromise agreement in 2011/12

She is missing the paperwork other than a letter from the Union suggesting that this is what will happen.

In order to submit the return will asking client to sign something to agree that her understanding is that this is a tax free payment ( I dont have enough info to judge) cover my backside?

Many thanks

compromise payment

Tell her that there is a penalty of up to £5,000 per tax year for not keeping records.  If she does not feel comfortable contacting her former employer and requesting the payment breakdown, ask her to authorise you to write or speak to them.

For info on compromise payments see
