sideway capital loss relief against income

sideway capital loss relief against income

Didn't find your answer?

anyone know if this was ever possible?

my understanding is thats its only possible under carporation tax rules

and on  disposal of specific EIS type small company investments.

Can aany one shed light on the whole scope of it?

and which investments sold at a loss can be relieved againgst income?

was it was phased out or am i just confused?

Believe capital losses can only be offsef against capital gains no sideways relief. However s.72 ita (I think) relief allows income tax losses to be used against capital gains in certain circumstances

Qualifying trading companies

Have a look at ITA 2007, ss24a, 31-151; CTA 2010 ss 68-90
