Songs to cheer you up

What songs do you listen to to cheer yourself up when you are down?

Didn't find your answer?

What songs do you listen to when you are in a funk?  I am putting together a playlist so that if my day is very bad I can put it on shuffle on the drive home and know that there is nothing in it that will bring me lower or put my mind in darker places (so no 'Hurt', no songs about lost loves, painful relationships or grief).

I would welcome all suggestions, however I am not one of those people that likes to listen to overly happy music while depressed; nothing worse than being really low and having some guy or gal larking on about how amazing life is (there's a reason everyone tops themselves at Christmas...).

I so far have far too much Weird Al Yankovic and a few hand picked songs (Baby got back, You got the Style, Come on Eileen, Cover of the Rolling Stone and so on) which meet my criteria, but would like to expand.

Appreciate it y'all...

I am in a much better place mental health wise than when I wrote this post originally, thank you all for your help back then.

I still have my playlist built from your suggestions, but I'd like to open up the floor to new suggestions as I got a lot of cool songs last time :)

Tedeschi Trucks Band -Bound for Glory...if this doesn't do it you have a problem my friend.

Dog's Head Out a Car Window by Bernard O'Shea

And yeah, Leyla, Boys are Back in Town and Teenage Kicks, all good; as is ELO's Mr Blue Sky.

[***] Uckers by Flight of the Conchords also good.

Love the 80's as does my ten year old... we started listening to A-ha together recently. That brought me back!

No brainer - Reasons to be Cheerful (part 3) - Ian Dury; and/or Hit me with your rhythm stick - by same.
Or One day like this - Elbow; or of course Get Lucky - Daft Punk.
That'll do for now. Tell me it doesn't cheer you up, in which case I'll buy you a beer - or several. Lol.

With this thread being brought back from the dead , on scanning my earlier choices I realised I missed out "Good Vibrations" and if I have that then I certainly need "God Only Knows "despite it not being particularly upbeat.
