I have recently completely redesigned my website and, for the first time, I have included a "Contact me" form. I now find that I am getting spam notifications in my inbox from my website form with offers and advertising etc. Is this normal, and something that I just have to put up with, or is there anthing I can do to stop this?
I am going to contact my web designer but thought that I would ask you guys first.
Many thanks.

We took our reply form down because of this.
In the end it was that or use a "captcha" type thing.
I believe its called: reCAPTCHA (the one owned by Google that most businesses use, where you see the green tick on clicking, or boxes come up and you have to click on the boxes with: cars, traffic lights, boats, cycles or what-have-you!).
That isn't a guarantee either though, some clever spammers have now learned how to get around that one too, but it should put off most of them at least!
We saw a noticeable drop in Spam after adding a reCaptcha. It was also easy to do as I managed to add myself. There will be a Google guide explaining what you need to do if you're inclined to give it a go.
All Web forms need some kind of security to stop spammers. It should be the default but sadly it is not.
