SSP funded by government

Director/Shareholder

Didn't find your answer?

In the case of one man bands, if they need to be in self isolation, can they now claim SSP from their company whom will be able to claim it back from the government?

No it is the employer who claims it back, so the company. How I don’t know but I am sure we will have to find out soon.

Not sure what you're asking - maybe read through your question and edit it to make it clearer.

Providing you are paying yourself more than £118 a week through payroll you can claim back 2 weeks SSP.

That's how I read it - no doubt OMB's will be specifically excluded though!

They 'should' be able to claim, as long as they meet the criteria. The stumbling block may be the existence of an employment contract - not sure any of my one man band clients operating through a ltd company will have one of these.....
