Striking off a company

Are they kidding?

Didn't find your answer?

I have just sent form DS01 to a client. The form states that the £10 fee should be paid by cheque or postal order. Are they kidding? I certainly haven't used a cheque for about 10 years and as for postal orders, I didn't think they even existed anymore. My client is currently abroad and has no cheque book. I suppose that he will have to wait until until he comes back to the UK, trundle down to the Post Office and by a postal order.

More of a rant really.

No - why ?

Cheques may be on their way out but they're not dead yet.

I agree that it needs to be brought more up to date, and online, but could you not pay it on their behalf in the interim, presumably you'll be charging a small fee for the process or bringing their affairs up to date prior to strike-off, or preparing SA100 at some point?

I would willingly do so except that I don't have a cheque book either :(

I agree it seems odd, particularly when for other functions they accept electronic payment.

I used the link above (posted elsewhere on aweb) I couln't find a link to it on the Companies House Website! I was pleasantly surprised - It enabled the director to electronically sign the form

Very useful, I didn't realise you could file electronically. Shame though, I just completed one for a client a couple of months ago

Filing a DS01 online has only recently become available. The cost to pay electronically has gone down to £8.

Now that’s progress!
