Student loan deductions on tax return

Student loan already paid off but no option to stop student loan being deducted on rental income

Didn't find your answer?

Client is employed but also has a number of rental properties. His P60 shows some student loan deductions but he insists that the loan is now fully paid off. He has a substantial rental income. I cant see any option on BTC software that clicks to say student loan already fully paid and stops the repayment being calculated on the rental income that has been earned. He doesnt want to have to ring hmrc and say the tax calculation is incorrect.

Can anyone advise please ?

You can remove it on HMRC software so there must be a way, ask BTC. A client once told me nothing was due but that was incorrect and they were chased and I had to sort out.

The last one of these I saw a couple of years ago, the student loan had to be paid through self assessment and then reclaimed from the Student Loan company.
