Submitted Tax Returns not showing to HMRC

Tax Returns not showing as received

Didn't find your answer?

We have two instances where we have submitted tax returns to HMRC and have received the submission receipts BUT HMC have not yet processed them albiet they can see they have been submitted - all we get is a case number  Both are due repayments. HMRC have told us we should not be using third party software so it is obviously our fault !!!!!!!. Has anybody else had this issue and managed to resolve it? We have tried resubmission but that has not worked either.

This is the sort of thing that the agent phone line is actually for. Provided it was the agent line that you phoned then yet again it shows that the system is broken and manned by incompetents.
Have these been outstanding since January?

I had exactly the same problem using HMRC software. I got a submission receipt but the TR had not been processed and the tax refund due was not showing on the client's account. I rang the agent helpline and was told that many TRs had been affected in this way and HMRC were aiming to process them in June. However the officer very helpfully managed to speak to one of her technical colleagues and the issue was sorted within a few days and the refund due is now showing on my client's account. HOWEVER the refund will now doubtless be held up by HMRC checks process!

I have got one held up in the same way, submitted in January through third party software (BTC). I spoke to someone at the end of February, who said that the case would be resolved by 1 April - at least he appreciated the irony of the date that the computer spat out! Guess what, the refund is still not showing..............

Not come across this. I've used TaxCalc where a refund is due and had no problems
