client works from home but has to travel nearby to check out various sites, He belongs to an association who meet regularly to discuss joint problems in their fields of work. Two members may go together, one drives and the other buys a meal for both. At times the meetings involve overnight stays. I am finding it difficult to get any real assitance from the web. The total subsistence is £1300 on a turnover of £60,000. Would this be considered allowable as being classed as outside hie normal pattern of travel.

Are we talking about driving to nearby sites ?
Or overnight stays for meetings ? Why is there a need to stay overnight ?
No problem with charging dinner, bed and breakfast provided you can justify the trip in the first place. You can even claim a modest amount of alcohol, provided it was taken with dinner.
