Sum Up and integration with Xero

Sum Up and integration with Xero

Didn't find your answer?

I have a client who uses sum up.  He has no till just a card reader and his phone.

He has reached the Vat Threshold and will now start having to submit using MTDFV and I have tried unsuccessfully to speak with anyone in Sum Up who can help me to understand how it links into Xero to bring in all the information it has taken.  (I have emailed several times and phoned up).

Does anyone know how this works, as Sum up have only told me that the POS Pro (tiller sysem) doesn't but the POS Enterprise (the good till) does.

My client will have the most basic version needed and I just wonder if the ones they speak of are for retail with a till and full pos system.  Can the most basic Sum Up app send info into Xero and how does it work/what does it do.

Many thanks in advance.

if there is no direct integration, could you get a csv download of data from Sum-up & import it like a bank statement? Xero probably have a template so you may have to manipulate the data columns a bit. I do this for GoCardless in Sage Cloud, once a month works for most of mine. A bit of a pain but no too bad.

Thanks for getting in touch over this. I would image a CSV download would sort the issue. SumUp got back to me yesterday and said this.....

To answer your question about using this system from your mobile phone,
unfortunately not. It would only work with the POS system.

They don't have a POS system in place. So it looks like they will either have to find a way of downloading the CSV as you say, or changing to a different supplier that will work with Xero.

I have to export the data to Excel and then transfer it to Xero.
