I have switched payroll software midyear from payroo to brightpay for payroll but forgot to change the payroll ID as I though work no and payroll ID are same. Now HMRC have issued tax code changed to all employees under same company but different payroll ID. What is the best way to rectifiy it and HMRC is saying that each employee need to call HMRC to let them know about this payroll ID change issue. Also Tax liability has changed significantly under HMRC portal and they have asked me to provide YTD figures for PAYE and NI. Is someone come across the same problem and how to oversome this issue.
Thanks

Whatever you do, don't change payroll software mid year.
And if you do do it, whatever you do, don't change the employees' works numbers.
I recently passed a payroll to a client who fancied doing it in-house, giving him those two specific, straightforward pieces of advice, which he ignored.
I understand he's having difficulties..........
HMRC for will now consider all the employees have two separate employments (albeit with the same employer).
Likely also that HMRC will have doubled up all PAYE due up to date of software change.
Nightmare to sort out.
Sorry no practical advice other than what lion has said for the future.
When I had similar (not exactly the same issue) I ignored the 'new' tax codes. Not what you are meant to do however failing that you are likely to have client / their employees (understandably) banging at your door.
Go back into payroo and issue P45s. Otherwise each employee will have to call HMRC separately unless it is a large payroll and you can write to them to make the change their end.
And ignore the codes if you can work out the duplicated parts.
I would suggest calling Brightpay support before doing anything else. I'm sure you're not the first company to have a problem like this with a mid-year setup.
My client has a similar problem last year and Brightpay were very helpful.
Completely agree with @SlimFreddie, contact BrightPay support. They will have come across this before I'm sure and will be able to offer you some advice. On the odd occasion I've needed support they have been excellent.
Best of luck!
