Tax implications for winding down a limited co

Tax implications of moving business from 1 co to another

Didn't find your answer?

Currently have 3 separate limited companies. All 3 companies now have connected ownership. Can i move the trade from 2 so i only have 1 overall operating company, effectively winding down 2 of the companies. What are the tax implications of doing this? None of the companies are registered for vat but all are registered for paye.

I’d like to advise but wouldn’t want to cause confusion by contradicting your accountant - what does s/he say?

I can confirm that the implications remain as they were when you posted the same question at 8.52 this morning.

There are various pros and cons of having 3, 2 or 1 company/ies. The best way of deciding which option to go for is to speak to your accountant who fully understand you, your circumstances and your businesses.

That's useful additional information. My answer has accordingly changed from the previous thread. I now think you have an immediate tax issue.

Yes, you can.
The implications are numerous and, based on your question, vague.
VAT and PAYE are not immediately relevant but will need to be considered after the bigger issues are dealt with.

I think that's your questions answered in full.
