Tax Planning for Family and Owner-Managed Companies 2015/16

Tax Planning for Family and Owner-Managed...

Didn't find your answer?

I'm considering buying the above book.

I bought it about ten years ago and hardly ever used it but I think I would use it a lot more now.

Is there anything better on the market?

I'd wait for the 2016/17 version if I were you.

Problem with waiting

2015-2016 was published in December 2015, only two months ago so there'd be that issue every year.

But does it cover the changes to the dividend tax credit?

I wouldn't have thought so because that's in 2016-2017 but they might mention it in passing.

If we are going to wait for new rules we will wait for ever. If I waited to buy the next version in December 2016 the Budget in March 2016 usually mentions laws that wont come into effect until 2017-2018 so I would always have this issue.

Try us instead?

Our website www.rossmartin.co.uk is a maintained tax resource that acts like a big firm's intranet. We cover the majority of what you have in any book, and much much more as we maintain and update the site day to day, and it evolves as tax law develops..

We have full details of the dividend charge, how it works and case studies, likewise for the new regime for finance charges. Just working on the new transactions in securities rules (pending further announcements).

We trawl the web and press weekly updating as we find SME developments that are useful for you. You log on to us and get up to date information, worked examples, client briefings, CPD webinars and much much more (you can even commission your own guides and checklists). We are you online tax partner for just £1 per day (if you are a sole trader), sure beats employing a tax partner! You can read the recommendations about us here - http://www.rossmartin.co.uk/login (lots from Aweb members- many thanks to you for your support).

I created the site because I could never find the answers to my clients problems from the offerings of the conventional publishers. We are totally here for the little guys, although a lot of the larger firms now use us too, as it obviously saves then a couple of hundred grand a year maintaining their own resource. Do check us out.

The online version also sits in a module containing a wealth of other guidance relating to family and owner managed companies covering incorporation and disincorporation, share valuation, research and development tax reliefs and company reorganisations. Great value - check it out at http://www.bloomsburytax.com/uktaxservice/
