Tax relief on van purchase for Partnership

Didn't find your answer?

I work with a company that are a registered Partnership who have just purchased a new company van which has been purchased on finance with the dealership.  Can they claim 100% tax relief on the total price of the new van off of their next income tax bill?  The company is VAT registered so we will be claiming the VAT back.

That's what I love about Aweb (and there's loads not to like) ... 20 responses to a casual thought that was indeed b0ll0x - albeit unintentionally so.

When I said "It's the ampersand that makes all the difference", I didn't mean the ampersand per se - merely the impact of prefacing the word 'Company' with a conjoining ampersand (or indeed 'and').
Either transforms the meaning of the subsequent word (Company) into being 'people associated with that person/people' (those that preceded the ampersand or 'and').

This is of course more boring (and obvious) than the confusion I caused by being lazy with my grammar ... but I've enjoyed catching-up with the results just now. So thanks to one and all! :-)

More precisely, either forms part of the context in which the subsequent word finds itself, thereby illuminating which of several meanings that the word already possesses applies. Without context, you have a Magrathean whale.

Which probably explains the confusion sometimes engendered by my (generally very logical) thoughts - although not as well constructed as that definition.

I seem to meet more and more people who appear to be blissfully unaware that they are plummeting out of control (albeit at a considerably slower descent than the much lamented baby sperm whale) - and therefore remain non-cognisant of all the things that they could be observing and enjoying as these rush past.

And if that's not out of context then I don't know what is. Must be time for a cool compress!

Not a lot- I am easily bored with accounts and being stuck in my own room can get pretty tedious (wading through paying/not paying water bills this morning) . I did consider that there are no doubt some solicitors whose clients enjoy hot wax, but that might be a digression too far.

A member of the set I hypothesised about the other day? To wit, accounting and/or finance professionals lacking an interest in accountancy.

Accountancy is similar to Alan Bennet's definition of History

"It's just one [***] thing after another”

I don't think I love it anymore, methinks a divorce is looming.
