The new price structure from FTax gives a price for a few returns or unlimited, but at nearly twice the price I previously paid for about 50 returns of each type.
Any suggestions for alternatives for SA100, SA800, CT600 and CT900?

Taxfiler is all you need, despite Iris price increases its really well priced
taxfiler, best for the price atm
I wouldn't give Iris the time of day - very unfair terms and conditions - constant price hikes - the pandemic of the software world.
Even though TaxFiler has been taken over by IRIS, and there has been a price hike, it is still, in my view, fantastic value for money for a small practice. Compare their prices and see what you think.
Even though I've just cancelled my subscription, Taxfiler would get my vote.
Hi...whilst you have given up your software I hope you will continue contributing... you have occasionally irritated me but hey ho so does my wife... it must be love love love... can you hear Madness? Have you thought of offering consultancy?
You're having some random thoughts there, Mikey. Best put out that spliff and go mow the lawn!
I'm staying with FTax, despite their price hike.
I doubt if I'll disappear completely.
I'll just be even less relevant.
Haven't tried taxfiler to comment but I use absolute's TopUpTax - £5 per return for any mix of returns, which was the cheapest for my client work and their support is prompt and reliable too
I used top up in the past when I was using absolute, I liked it sort of
I used Absolute before TF, before that we used PTP for a number of years, price has always been the main driver to be honest, we had an absolutely hilarious quote from Iris once, at the time we were paying approx 1k a year to PTP , iris quoted 19k, no kidding
Taxcalc for me as constantly being developed and I don't trust IRIS with Taxfiler given their history with takeovers.
Another vote for TaxFiler here.
It’s a shame as I really like FTAX.... it’s a really good product....I would suggest you contact them... The trouble is you like what you like... I think they have made a mistake with their pricing structure for agents but if enough people tell them that they can receive feedback...
I am with BTC (which is good) but I think Tax Calc have better pricing for 50 returns.
Although from reading the other posts it looks like Tax Filer is the winner.
TaxCalc for me. User friendly and a reasonable price. Pretty good customer service too.
Yes, I've found the Taxcalc support staff very responsive.
It's all the bloody extras though
I don't think I pay for any.
I started with TaxCalc 7 years ago and have been really happy - never even considered moving.
Taxcalc for me. I used PTP (Iris) in industry, but couldn't afford it when I had to pay for it myself in practice. Esigner, although expensive for low volumes, has made getting signed accounts and returns back so much easier.
Another vote for Taxfiler - I like the fact you can file all types of return - I have a couple of simple trusts and a handful of partnerships (on top of the usual SA100s + CT600s) and most of the other providers seem to charge disproportionately for those.
I also actually find it fairly easy to use and like the tax calculation reports etc it produces.
Another vote for taxfiler, although I hope they/IRIS aren't reading this and decide to increase their prices because the think people like it enough to absorb the price hikes. Willing to pull the trigger on TaxCalc if that happens (already use for their AML module, so am already familiar with their user interface).
TaxCalc gets my vote! Easy to use and decently priced.
I was tempted by Taxfiler once Iris took them over that ruled them out.
