Tax simplification where did this policy go?

Why has tax become so complicated? Thank God for software.........

Didn't find your answer?

I am a bit old school and like to at least try to make sure that the results my software produces are correct but when it comes to foreign tax credit relief what a nightmare. It doesn't make sense Government supposedly say they are rewriting tax to make it simpler to understand, but on the other hand are making the system so complicated you need to be a mathematician to work it all out!

George took the tax simplification policy when he left.

Just a pity he didn't use some fiscal imagination, while he was in the job.
Of course, with George, one job was never enough, was it?

Rather than thanking software you need to blame it, it is the fact that it can (unless designed by HMRC) do these calculations that lets politicians introduce the complexity into the system in the first place.

Computers are false friends, they came on the scene and buddied up to accountants, "we can help you, make your life easier", it was all a cunning plan, they were after our jobs and we fell for their inviting bytes and ever increasing ram.
