We recently moved from IRIS to taxcalc.
We have a couple of charities that we do and we understand that we cant produce Companies House charity accounts in Taxcalc in the same way that we used do in IRIS using the IRIS charity template
What do other taxcalc users do to produce charity accounts for submission to Companies House?
Dont really want to do accounts manually in excel or word.

Oh, think you might be in trouble then.
We only have 1 charity - we do the workings in TaxCalc to get the TB, then have an Excel setup to plug the TB into and the figures populate in the (Excel) accounts.
having worked in big regional chartered practice and then in a smaller independent we always resorted to using Word/Excel combination when preparing Charity or Independent Exam. It's just too much fuss with reallocating and coding of funds, activities, etc. I was loosing a will to live!
This despite that both firms using Iris Suite and SAP.
I'm sure there is some good software but unless the practice do this kind of work every week or fortnight is it really worth paying for yet another subscription?

this topic was discussed in some more details
You could run Keytime Accounts Production Charities alongside. No need to buy a full licence - you can get a charities only licence for <£100
BTC also have a charity option - it isn't too expensive to buy alongside your existing.
We looked at it for a bit when we first moved to Digita as the Digita Charity offering was really slow and complex - we no longer use BTC as the Digita Charity template is a lot better and works quite well now.
Have a look at SORPAID which is an excel plug-in. Not used it myself, but know of several charities that have.
