Taxfiler Migration to Iris Complete but No clients

Taxfiler Migration to Iris Complete but No clients showing on Iris dashboard

Didn't find your answer?

Hello,

Have completed the migration from Taxfiler to Iris using the migration token. The migration was completed but I cannot see any clients on the client page in Iris so it has failed. Have ocntacted Iris by raising a case, anyone else experienced this? Thanks

You got further along than me then. I had the migration token but I kept getting an error every time I tried to migrate and I'm pretty IT literate so it's not me! What does Iris say?

Same as this. Have you gotten it resolved?

As an update they have raised a technical token and acknowledged that the migration has failed

I got similar to you except it said the migration failed. It pulled over my practice information etc, but there are no clients. I'm waiting on a support case, but there's no way to reply to their message, so I'm waiting for a chat agent..... So far, my experience with Iris has not been good!

Mine worked fine but I was annoyed when the Notes weren't copied over and I was told I would have to pay more. Also this raising a case business. An email address would be easier.

Another day, another Iris problem. Yet, people on here are still queuing up to hand over their money and take another beating. Baffling.

I'm so busy I really had no choice. Can't take the time to migrate and at the mo the price works.

Too busy to migrate to another piece of software, but you have the time to work through all these problems? Ok.

Btw - we always have a choice. You chose to migrate to Elements. You could have made a different decision.

And you really believe Elements for you will stay the price it is ?! Bless

Check out the new customer prices to see what you’ll be switched to in a year or so

Is price the only factor?
But this comment suggests that you did make a choice. Or are you still denying that fact?

No it’s not the only factor but at the moment I don’t have time for the migration. Due to personal circumstances I’m behind with work so time is pressing. I expect next year I will change to taxcalc

Suggest me something that is very similar for £11 a month and does LLP accounts, and I'll happily go look at it.

Pretty sure there isn't anything.

You’re falling right into their trap. The export facility is useless so you’re trapped in their ecosystem and then the price will jack up

I've been using Taxfiler for over a decade paying £12 a month and was very happy. Iris took over and within a couple of months they tripled the fee. Currently it's £43.20/mth. About a month or so ago I was forced to migrate to Iris and they gave me a month trial. The migration seemed to go fine and relatively quickly. However, I couldn't actually do anything in Iris except look around, so continued to file with Taxfiler.

I've been reading everyones problems and Iris' lack of support and couldn't face going through it myself. So a couple of weeks ago, I decided to move to Taxcalc. The migration took a few moments and the very helpful young man Daniel took me through the site, showing me how to use it.

Cost is important, I'm a small practice, but so is my mental health and sanity.

Problem is, you still have to keep Iris while setting up tax calc, do you not as you need to get your data over.

Once I'd decided which parts I needed, I had to wait about 10 days for the migration team to contact me. They downloaded my clients on Taxfiler and sent me an excel spreadsheet, so I could delete any that I didn't want to bring over and I sent it back to them.

The next day they contacted me, the actual migration/upload was very quick and I was on the phone to them while it was happening and then had a tour of the site and shown some shortcuts to help etc. It wasn't rushed, I asked very specific questions, he talked me through getting the VAT authorisation link working etc.

I've gone from paying £518.40 p.a to around £900, yes it's a big jump but I imagine Iris will up their fees as soon as they can.

There was a constant worry in the back of my mind about Iris and what was in store when I began to use it and now it's gone. Some things are worth paying for, and peace of mind is priceless.

Yes i've been sent a guide to do it but if they can do it for you that would be neat. But as you say higher price but you never know with Iris,

Silly question, is it cloud based?

Yes, if you look at the Elements price for new customers (which is the price they will transfer taxfiler customers to as soon as they can) it's a lot more than Taxcalc to get the same functionality.
