Taxfiler subscription increase

That's another 15% increase from IRIS

Didn't find your answer?

Over the last 2 years Taxfiler / IRIS has increased my subscription by a whopping 81%, I'll pay this year but must find another provider as these increases are crazy and totally unjustified for the same product. I'm not intersted in the so called extra products that I don't use in justifying these huge increases.

Anyone have any suggestions on tax software for next year.

Taxcalc are currently running a 3 year fixed price deal.

I ran away from iris 3 years ago because of their price increases.

Please check when the window for cancellation is or you'll be locked in to another year even if you don't want it.

Price increases are of course annoying, but to me it makes sense to forget about the old (extremely 'competetive') price, and just compare with alternative products, bearing in mind any additional useful functionality they may have, and also the time cost of changing product.

Yes, we can all see now the (ludicrously) low price before was to build up a customer base ripe for selling. But the product is still good value for money.

This price rise is actually over a year old. But depending on when your annual contract renews some people only got it this year.

Absolute TopUpTax does me at £5 a submission for any kind of return. Have received good support from them several times (though to be fair if their help files were better I wouldn't need the help of a real person)

Taxcalc have frozen their 2020 fees until 31/3/22. Then only 5% increase for each of the following 2 years. I’ve just renewed, so will set a diary reminder to renew in March 22, 5 months early(!)

Everytime IRIS buy something, the guys at TaxCalc release a communique to say that they’re not planning on selling to a ‘big boy’, but I guess only time’ll tell when cash gets thrown around …

You normally can renew early and get a credit for the remaining time on the original subscription - they do it so you can bring all of your subscriptions into line when you buy another product or upgrade (eg signed up to accounts in Jan, tax return in March, so have both subscribed March-Feb).

I use TF for Tax Return filing, and TaxCalc for AML. So, I now have all the personal data, etc. on TaxCalc, so the transfer from TF to TaxCalc should be a reasonably easy process. Waiting to pull the trigger if a) the TF product quality reduces or b) the TF price matches (or exceeds) TaxCalc. Neither apply at the moment, so am staying put with TF. But I'm ready to move if I need to...come on TF, don't make me do it...
