Taxfiler to Iris migration and Companies House

How long did it take to get a new Companies House presenter ID?

Didn't find your answer?

For anyone who has migrated from Taxfiler to Iris Elements how long did it take to get your new Companies House account to submit accounts to Companies House please?

I assumed I could use my existing Presenter ID and password but was told by support I need to apply for a new one.

I have a few accounts I do need to submit to Companies House and would like to be able to do it via the software but if it's going to take a while I will need to submit them manually.

I think Support believes it's April 1st.

For the record the presenter ID is unique to you, not the software you use.

No need to apply for a new one.

My existing presenter ID and password definitely dont work in Iris Elements. I've tried several times and even copied it directly from Taxfiler to ensure I had the correct details. Support assured me for it to work I needed to apply for a new ID.

If its not working. Contact iris support and ask why. It's nothing to do with needing a new presenter ID.

Quite, that's nonsense. If you cant find the old password contact enquiries @ CH and someone will get back to you fairly quickly

That's typical of their support, blaming everything but their own software.

You definitely do NOT need a new account!!!!

Iris support would probably tell you that you need to change your name every time you renew your passport..

An update for anyone reading this - I did need a new account.

I called Companies House they sent me an online link to an application and within about 10 minutes I had a new presenter ID and password! If only everything was so quick and easy.

I've just entered them into Iris Elements and the accounts have been sucessfully submitted.

Well, I take back what I said about Iris support then. But why? Has the format of presenter IDs changed recently and old ones can't be re-used? They aren't usually specific to software.

Don't take back what you said, he's just been fobbed off as usual by their support.

I don’t know they just said I couldn’t use the same account as I’d used with Taxfiler.

Total BS from them, the account is software specific

And what happens if you use CH presenter ID on other software? Presumably, you have to update them with the new details.

Out of curiosity, I'd love an explanation from Sage (also because no doubt I'll have to do this soon.....)

I don’t know but I do know getting a new presenter code from Companies House was infinitely quicker and easier than trying to get through to and deal with Iris support to resolve the issues I’ve had already.

That doesn't solve the problem with your old account and their software.

I've been using my 10-year old Companies House account with Elements since day 1.

You've been made to set up a new account because they couldn't be bothered to solve the problem in your case.

Still, believe them by all means if you want. Just know that every time you have a problem they will blame everything else but their software. I know from experience.
