Does anyone know what address to use to tell HMRC we no longer act for certain clients. The clients have been removed from our online list but we continue to receive P800s - which have no HMRC address on them. The latest thread I can find on this is 2014.
Thanks

Write to the Self-Assessment central address -
Self Assessment
HM Revenue and Customs
BX9 1AS
United Kingdom
- commonly known as The Black Hole as it swallows up all types of enquiries and can take months to spit them out.
In practice you will not receive an acknowledgement of your letter but if you phone after about 8 weeks they should be able to confirm that they have received it and what action is being taken.
I don't know of anywhere else to write or email to for general enquiries/notifications.
(I believe that all correspondence is scanned in the Black Hole and then put into a central computer from which any HMRC officer/office in any part of the country can pick it up and deal with it. A great idea and clearly works well in reducing the reply period from years to months).
