I have just noticed that I have reached 995 thanks for the various answers I have given over the years and in anticipation of 5 more I would like to say 1000 thank yous to everyone that contibutes on here whether we have agreed or disagreed with each other I hope for the most part I have been able to support you in the way that you all continue to support me. I have always tried to be respectful and polite and am sorry if once or twice that has not come across!
Especially this year the site has been essential - here's to 1000 more, once I click submit on my last January SATR later today I will be raising a glass to you all (well most of you anyway haha)

Some of the thanks come from me since I admire how you run your successful practice and learn from your responses. And you are always helpful and supportive to posters (even if they disagree with you - you really should have charged for furlough claims ;)).

That might explain why sometimes I have read a thread that then gets listed in the 'wrong' order as newer than the genuine new thread that not yet seen.
With regard to this 'thanks' thing and perhaps this should be on a new thread, it bugs the hell out of me getting an email for 'thanks' for giving an answer to a question, cos sometimes its multiple thanks, even though mine might be the only reply. Is there an known issue with the system?

If it bugs you that much turn it off. I’m grateful to anyone that thinks a post of mine to be worthy of thanks but I really have no interest in being told every time that someone does.
I've thanked comments that explain a point well. I've thanked comments that improved my technical knowledge. I've thanked comments that made me laugh. I tend not to thank comments that take a 'stance' (e.g. political or moral etc) - even if I agree with what's been said. [I'd be interested in a breakdown by category of the thanks (I've) given in here.]
